Gaea Consultants has over 11 years of experience providing environmental engineering and consulting services to our clients.  We have performed multiple Wetland Determinations and Threatened and Endangered Species Evaluations for projects’ approvals.  We have well-established relationships with regulatory agents  at the state and federal level.  We have acted as agents for our clients preparing Parish, State, and Federal permit applications with a 100% success rate of approval.

PERMIT APPLICATIONS

Gaea Consultants has prepared Section 404 and Section 10 permit applications for the US Army Corps of Engineers, LPDES permit applications for the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality, and Coastal Use Permits for the Louisiana Department of Natural Resources and coastal parishes.  While working as a senior hydraulic engineer at the New Orleans District, Dr. Koob reviewed Section 404 and Section 10 permit applications for conformance with the Corps’ hydraulic policies in the Atchafalaya Basin.

WETLAND DETERMINATION AND DELINEATION

We prepare Wetland Determination Reports for submission to USACE regarding Jurisdiction Determination of project areas.  If determined to be jurisdictional, we prepare Wetland Delineation Reports for confirmation by USACE as part of the 404 permit and mitigation process.

THREATENED AND ENDANGERED SPECIES REPORT

We prepare Threatened and Endangered Reports for approval from US Fish and Wildlife Service.  We have a 100% approval rate for our clients.

ENVIRONMENTAL SITE ASSESSMENT

We perform Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments.  This involves a visual inspection of the subject property, public information review, historical record search and current and past owner interviews.  As required by ASTM Standard E-1527-05 guidelines when contaminants are found, we perform more detailed investigations involving chemical analysis for hazardous substances and/or petroleum hydrocarbons.

LPDES NOTICE OF INTENT/STORM WATER POLLUTION PREVENTION PLAN

For construction sites which require storm water runoff permits, Gaea prepares the forms and drawings required by the Department of Environmental Quality.  We complete the Notice of Intent to begin construction and prepare the necessary exhibits.  We then create a storm water pollution prevention plan for the site, outlining specific on-site measures to prevent construction storm water from impacting neighboring properties or waterways.  When construction is complete, Gaea   fills out and submits the Notice of Termination, informing DEQ that the project is done.
